The old furniture finish is chemically removed down to the bare wood. Thin veneers and items with delicate inlays are carefully stripped to perfection. Once the finish is removed, the wood is chemically treated to enhance its natural beauty. All case pieces such as dressers, chests or trunks are then scrubbed with mild solvents throughout including insides, bottoms and drawers to remove musty smells.
Any repairs are made at this time and all surfaces carefully sanded.
Color and furniture refinisher options are discussed with customer in person. Matching an original finish is always a good choice, however, other furniture refinishing options are discussed and demonstrated. Custom finishes on newer furniture are available. Any color can be matched and converted to a superior finish so your creative ideas are welcome.
After staining, all surfaces are coated with a sealer. This traditional furniture resurfacing step provides a shock absorbing barrier between wood and the harder, scratch resisting top coats. Finish coats are are applied in the sheen of your choice and the results are stunning.
